Can I do the teacher training for my own growth if I don’t want to be a teacher?

Absolutely yes! Yoga teacher training is the single most potent way to dive deeper into your yoga practice, journey inward and apply the teachings to your asana practice and life off the mat. We have had many students in the past who enroll simply for their self growth.

Why is teacher training a good investment?

Our teacher training is competitively priced consistent with the market. Trainings that are priced below market may not be led by experienced teachers or provide a high quality of training. Teacher training is a serious commitment that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to begin a new career. The tuition reflects this. It takes thousands of dollars to complete a single year of college. In just a few short months, you will gain skills that will transform your life, give you the tools to help others and generate a income. The tuition is a small investment for a life changing and significant return on investment.

Do you offer refunds?

A deposit is required to hold your spot. If you give at least 30 days advance written notice, your deposit minus a $500 administrative fee is refunded. There are no refunds with less than 30 days notice.

Does Laurel teach all of the classes?

Laurel teaches many classes and oversees the entire training. There are three other faculty members who assist her who all have their 500 hour teacher certification and many years teaching yoga.

What if I can’t make a class?

We have an attendance policy that allows participants to make up missed hours, up to a point. If the participant is going to miss multiple weekends, then it’s best not to enroll for that program and wait to enroll when the teacher training schedule better suits yours.

Is this school registered with the Yoga Alliance?

Yes, we’ve been registered with the Yoga Alliance since 2001.

Are the faculty experienced?

Yes. Laurel Hodory, the Director, M.S., E-RYT500 has the highest designation of yoga training offered by Yoga Alliance. She is a life coach and has more than 24 years of personal yoga study and 22 years of teaching experience. She has certified hundreds of teachers around the globe and taught workshops, retreats and trainings internationally and nationally. Assistant Director Mary Ellen Coleman, CHHC, E-RYT500 has been teaching and studying yoga for more than 8 years. She is also a Playing Big® Facilitator. The other faculty have been study and trained directly with Laurel over many years. She has a close relationship with them and they work collaboratively to provide the highest level of training and support for all participants.

What makes this training different than others?

Our program is intimate and practical at once. Our faculty is trained to create a supportive and uplifting environment (two of the faculty are trained coaches) and teach cutting edge content that empowers our graduates to take their teaching anywhere. We have graduates teaching in NYC, Switzerland, Chicago, Pennsylvania and all of the major studios in central Ohio. We also offer teaching internships to those who are ready to put their teaching skills to practice.

What is a typical day like?

8am Opening Circle

8:45am Pranayama & Meditation

9:15am Teacher Training in one of the following content areas: postural technique, anatomy, yoga philosophy, or teaching methods

11:15am Asana Practice

12:30-2pm Lunch is 90 minutes to that you have time for satsang (fellowship) with your class mates)

2-4pm Guest lecture in anatomy or philosophy

4-6pm Teacher Training in one of the content areas mentioned above
There are multiple opportunities throughout the day to receive direct support from Faculty while you are learning new material. The Faculty are all trained in positive reinforcement so we make learning fun and enjoyable.
