Redefining Courage
Redefining Courage
When was the last time you took a risk?
I don’t mean skydiving or bungee jumping. I’m talking about taking a risk like:
- having a difficult conversation
- sharing something you feel vulnerable or ashamed of
- admitting you’re wrong
- speaking up when you don’t agree
- getting angry
- setting boundaries—saying no when you “should” say yes
Postures that require us to take a risk help us flex our courage muscles—especially if when you do the pose, you set the intention to build your courage.
Practice
The next time you’re on the mat and fear arises in a pose, feel the fear and do it anyway. Tell yourself you’re flexing your courage muscles.
Then let me know here how it goes!
Be the light,
Laurel
