Are You Hiding Your Mess?
I grew up hiding. I learned that if I wasn’t who my parents wanted me to be, I would be punished. And so I hid who I really was then, and for many years after. When I got older, even though I wanted to come out of hiding, I was often too scared. The somatic memory in my body would send me into convulsions of nausea, shaking and complete terror when it came time to speak up authentically.
I bet you remember a time when you were young when you received the disapproval from a caregiver or some important adult. This leaves patterns, or samskaras that diminish our light.
Yoga systematically roots out the stored memories in the body, freeing us so that we can feel safe, at home and whole. Yoga integrates, yokes and unites. We remember the shameful parts we have banished. The very act of shining the light of our awareness on them transforms them, and us. What once darkened, now lightens.
Cultivate the light of your own awareness by practicing, journaling and meditation. Click here to check out my exciting workshops to root out what’s no longer serving you. But don’t wait, this sold out the last two times and we only have a few spots left.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
